Game number 9 of The Hundred sees the face-off between Manchester Originals against Northern Superchargers. The former lost their first game, but then, at Old Trafford, their home, they won and opened their account for the season. Superchargers, meanwhile, as still searching for their first win. The Originals had a game to remember the last time, as with home support by their side, they came out of the blocks with a bang. First, they bowled out Birmingham Pheonix in just 84 balls, with their bowlers doing a supreme job. Matt Parkinson led the charge, finishing with figures of 19-13-9-4, as Calvin Harrison and Carlos Brathwaite ended with 2 each. Chasing a slightly low total, Philip Salt and Jos Buttler got them to a good start, and even though they lost a couple of wickets, they romped home, with a win. Things haven't quite worked out for Superchargers, as they haven't hit the ground running. Even though they put 132 up on the board in the last game, it was only due to the performances by Harry Brook and John Simpson, the rest of the batters just came out, stayed for a couple of minutes, and went back. With the ball, they made Rockets search for the runs and made it hard for them, with 4 of their bowlers, Ben Stokes, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Adil Rashid, and Callum Parkinson finishing with 2 wickets each, but they could not do enough to win. If their batting can deliver in this game, then they will be on course to get their first win of the campaign. Let's hope both of them can bring their A-game.
