Right then! That is all we have from here! The action continues though as we have the clash between Northern Superchargers and Oval Invincibles in a short while. So do join us for that!
Carlos Brathwaite, Manchester Originals skipper, says that they felt that Welsh were 15 runs short. Adds that they wanted to use the cutters and slower ones on this surface. Praises Clarke for how he batted and praises Salt too for playing a mature innings.
Ben Duckett, Welsh Fire skipper, says that halfway they were happy. Adds that there was some spin so they were happy to get to 150. Mentions that he enjoyed being the captain but it was not ideal to lose the lead bowler.
Joe Clarke - HERO OF THE MATCH. Clarke says he was everywhere after his first 5 or 6 balls. Says he loves batting with Salt. Mentions franchise cricket helped him a lot and it makes you a better player. Adds nothing has changed about how he goes about things, he looks to go hard right from the word go. States he felt it was going to be a difficult wicket to bat on but the bowlers said in the break that they are 15-20 runs short. Ends by saying, he is enjoying playing for Nottinghamshire and trying to make the most of this opportunity.
The bowling from Welsh Fire wasn't the best as they failed to pick wickets regularly. Ryan Higgins took one and Matt Critchley took one to keep them in the hunt but none of their other batters could take wickets in the middle. Qais Ahmad was brilliant but did not take a wicket. James Neesham took a late wicket but it was too little too late.
Manchester Originals had a dream start to chase with Joe Clarke and Philip Salt teeing off at the top. Clarke raced to his 50 but soon after he fell. Salt fell not too long after but they had given a nice cushion for the rest of their batting. In the end, Colin Ackermann and Colin Munro took Manchester Originals close to the target with Munro finishing things off and handing Welsh Fire their first loss of the competition.
