So, that is it from this game! The action though continues on Sunday. It is a clash between the Invincibles and the Rockets. The game begins at 1900 local (1800 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
James Vice says that the bowlers were very good. Says that it was a good win tonight. Adds that Sterling's role is to maximize the Powerplay. Ends by praising de Kock and says that he was the only one finding the middle of the bat.
Quinton de Kock, Hero of the Match, says that as the ball got older it got tougher. Says that it was difficult but in the end, he is happy they won. Adds that shot-selection is key, finding the gaps as well. Says that the bowlers did a good job. Ends by saying that he feels good to take the team over the line.
Earlier in the day, after electing to bat, Northern Superchargers' innings just never got going, they kept losing wickets and in the end crawled their way to 128 courtesy Vilas' knock right at the end. Southern Brave chased it down, it wasn't very easy for them but they did do it quite comfortably courtesy of a good knock from Quinton de Kock.
Northern Superchargers did really well with the ball! They did not start that well and that is what cost them the game. Had they not given the amount of runs they did in the initial overs, this game would have been quite close. Rashid and Adam Lyth were brilliant. However, Mujeeb and Potts were not at their best and defending an average total, you need all your bowlers to fire. Overall they were quite under par.
Chasing a below par target, Quinton de Kock and Paul Stirling got them off to a flier, the latter was dismissed. James Vince did not last long but Alex Davies and de Kock got things back on track. When Davies got out they needed around 6 per over with de Kock there, it seemed like they would run away with the game but wickets in heaps got Southern Brave back into the game. The experienced head of de Kock though took his side over the line. A really fine innings from the left-hander and he has announced his arrival.
In the end, the scorecard will show a comfortable win for the hosts but by no means it was comfortable. Yes, they cruised most of the run chase but it did get nervy towards the end.
