That is it from this game! Southern Brave have moved to the top of the table with this win while Welsh Fire are knocked out of the playoffs race just like the Welsh Fire Women team. We will be back with the action of The Hundred on 12th August where Northern Superchargers Women will take on Manchester Originals Women at 1530 local (1430 GMT). Do join us for the match but the build-up will begin much in advance. Till then, goodbye and take care!
The skipper of Southern Brave, James Vince is up for a chat - He says that the bowlers have been outstanding. Adds that every game has been different but they bowled well today and kept them to a par score. Credits Quinton de Kock and says that he is an outstanding player and they are glad to have him in the side. Speaking about the crowd, he adds that the atmosphere has been brilliant and thanks them for coming to the ground and supporting them.
Quinton de Kock, HERO OF THE MATCH, says that they needed this win as it was an important game for them. Adds that a little bit of patience was required on this kind of wicket. Mentions that he is enjoying his cricket at the moment and feels that they are a very good team. He signs off by saying that they like chasing but are comfortable while defending as well.
An early breakthrough was required and Luke Fletcher provided with just that as he got rid of the dangerous Paul Stirling. But after that, the bowlers were sent packing as James Vince smacked them left, right and centre. The bowlers tried everything to help their cause but nothing clicked for them as Vince was well set and looked too good. Qais Ahmed managed to get him out but Quinton de Kock then started attacking and the Welsh Fire bowlers were left clueless. This also means that the side are knocked out of the tournament.
Southern Brave continue to dominate! Paul Stirling got off to a flying start and looked to attack each and every ball but got out in the process. James Vince then started counter-attacking and made sure Southern Brave did not feel the pressure of losing an early wicket. James Vince and Quinton de Kock soon brought their 50 run partnership where Vince was more of an aggressor and the former also brought up his half century. After Vince got out, Quinton de Kock took the responsibility on his shoulders and got the job done. He brought up his half century as well in the process. Courtesy of the attacking approach of James Vince and Quinton de Kock, Southern Brave won by 8 wickets.
