That is all we have from Game 27 of the Hundred! Just a handful of games left now. This victory has taken Birmingham Phoenix to the top of the points table while Trent Rockets have dropped down to third. Saturday, 14th August, 2021, sees Oval Invincibles take on London Spirit. The latter cannot qualify but can spoil others' plans. The action begins at 7 pm local (1800 GMT) but we shall arrive early with all the pre-match updates. Join us a bit earlier then. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!

Liam Livingstone, HERO OF THE MATCH, says that it was a great team effort. Adds that this award is for the bowlers. Further opines that they are winning at the right time and he is very happy. Says that to bowl out Imran Tahir's last 5 was pure instinct and it worked pretty well. Says that he was disappointed with how he got out. Ends by saying captaincy doesn't affect his batting much.

Earlier, Finn Allen, Liam Livingstone and Miles Hammond took Birmingham Phoenix to 166/6. At the halfway mark, it did look like a few runs short but the bowling made up for those. Like the Rockets, the Phoenix too lost their way in the middle overs but managed to recover. Please stay tuned for the presentation...

Given the way Trent recovered after a sloppy start, they will be disappointed with the finish. Mullaney and Gregory had ensured that the lower middle order do not have too much time to spend in the middle but once Tom Moores fell, the innings fell apart.

Phoenix began their defense of 166 in supreme fashion, getting rid of Hales, Malan and Short in the span of 23 balls. Thereafter, the middle order rallied for Rockets but the trio of Brown, Tahir and Howell tied them down in the middle overs. Pat Brown was the pick from the bowlers with 3/27 in 20 balls, comprising of 6 dots.

Comfortable win for Birmingham Phoenix in the end. At the halfway mark, it did look like Trent Rockets had their run chase planned, but those three quick wickets early on spoilt their plans.
