Well, that is all we have from this game. Action in The Hundred is not done for the day as the final game in the Men's 100 between Manchester and Birmingham is about to get underway shortly. Switch tabs and join us for the same.
Kirstie Gordon is the HERO OF THE MATCH! She says that they are happy to get the first win. Says that the pitch was holding up and they were playing to their strength. Says that she enjoyed the pressure. Tells that it is absolutely lovely to be with this team, all the staff, and the players.
A very good bowling display by Birmingham Phoenix Women and they will be pleased with the same. They removed 4 batters very quickly but were on the back foot when Kaur and Threlkeld were going on. They did not lose their nerve and broke this stand, after which, they strolled to victory. Kirstie Gordon was the pick of the lot, conceding just 14 runs while taking 3 to her name. Abtaha Maqsood was also very economical, taking 2 Manchester wickets. Georgia Elwiss had a game to remember as well, finishing with two snares.
Birmingham Phoenix Women have won this game by 20 runs and they have their first win of the campaign! Manchester Originals Women never seemed to get going with the run chase. They seemed to struggle early on and were not able to really stitch a stand until Harmanpreet Kaur and Eleanor Threlkeld came together. Out of their top six, only these two crossed the double-digit and that tells you everything you need to know about their batting display. When Kaur and Threlkeld were going along, it did look like they could scale this down, but Kaur played a labored inning and struggled towards the end and when this stand was broken, a flurry of wickets were lost and Manchester were not able to close the game out.

Georgia Elwiss to Kate Cross ,OUT! STUMPED! Tossed up, full on middle. Cross looks to reverse hit but fails to connect it. They appeal for LBW but meanwhile Kate Cross stumbles and Amy Jones clips the bails off. The TV umpire has a view and it shows, Cross had her feet out of the crease. Pressure all now on Harmanpreet Kaur.
Stumped? Looks like it. Yes, her foot and bat is out of the crease, when the bails are whipped off. Will be out.
