Match 9 of The Hundred Women sees the clash between Northern Superchargers Women and Manchester Originals Women, both these teams have had contrasting starts to the tournament. Coming to the Superchargers, they have won both the games that they have played so far and are sitting well in the top half of the table. In both their wins, Jemimah Rodrigues was the key player as she has batted brilliantly in the newest format of cricket so far. But moving forward, they would want other batters to get in form to reduce the overdependency on Rodrigues. Skipper Lauren Winfield and Laura Kimmince did show signs of getting in the groove in their last game against Trent Rockets Women. Coming to their bowling, it has been a team performance in that department. Linsey Smith, Katie Levick and Alice Davidson-Richards have been amongst the wickets and would to continue their good form to provide the Superchargers with important wickets throughout the tournament. Coming to the team from Machester, they have lost both their matches and would be desperate to get back on the winning ways before it gets too late for them. In their last game against Birmingham Phoenix Women, they could only score 93 runs. Their batting is a worry for them as no one apart from Harmanpreet Kaur has played well in both games, Lizelle Lee played well in the first game but failed in the second game. Their batters need to pull their socks up if they want to get to winning ways in The Hundred. Their bowling is well led by skipper Kate Cross while Sophie Ecclestone, Laura Jackson, and Emma Lamb have also bowled quite well. But you cannot win games in cricket if your batters don't turn up and put on a good show. It is fair to say that the Superchargers are firm favorites heading into the contest. But in a game of 200 balls, it only takes a few deliveries to turn the game on its head. So, will the Superchargers continue their march or will the Originals get their first win of the tournament? Well, we will find out!
