So, that is it from this game! However, the Men's game follows and you would not want to miss out on that. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Hero of the match Tash Farrant says that she was a bit nervous towards the end but with Dane Van Niekerk out in the middle, she was confident about the girls to go on and win it. Mentions that Alice Capsey is so confident in her game and works really hard and knows that the team backs her. About her own bowling she says that she's got some good bowlers around her and bowling at the death is rewarding her with wickets. Lastly, she says that it is pretty overwhelming with these huge crowds in and the standard in the Hundred is pretty top notch.
More than the bowling, it was the fielding which let Birmingham down. The three dropped catches really cost them. One each of the openers and one of Capsey who hit the boundary which released a lot of pressure. Also, the likes of Wong and Franklin could have done better as the others fared quite decently. The 32 balls bowled by those two were quite expensive. Another day and another loss for Birmingham. Their chances of qualification seem very slim now.
A superb chase then and it was led by their skipper, Dane Van Niekerk! What a move to actually come right up the order! Oval will be feeling really good as they had failed to chase two average totals in the last couple of games but have really done well to gun a target which was more than competitive. Have to say it was the opening stand which laid the platform. Georgia Adams and Dane Van Niekerk added 90 with the former playing second fiddle and the latter really going after the bowlers. They were cruising till the two were playing. However, once Adams fell, the runs started to slow down and the run rate required also kept going up. Dane Van Niekerk though took the onus upon her and took her side over the line in style.

Georgia Elwiss to Alice Capsey ,FOUR! Handy boundary! And a little pressure is off! On middle, this is heaved towards deep mid-wicket. Mack there runs to her right and dives but it lands in front of her and goes behind for a boundary.
Review for LBW. Georgia Elwiss looks confident and Amy Jones does take the review. The replay shows that the impact is too close to call and hence the onfield decision will stand.

Georgia Elwiss to Alice Capsey ,NOT OUT! Umpire's call! Too close to call actually! However, it is a dot! Just around off, Capsey moves across and looks to hit it behind square on the leg side but misses to get hit on the pads. An appeal but turned down! It is referred upstairs and replays show that the impact is too close to call.
