David Warner made a top start to The Hundred with the London Spirit, having slammed two fifties in his first three innings. He started off his stint, scoring just nine on his debut against the Oval Invincibles, but slammed an unbeaten 70* (45) in the next game against Welsh Fire and bettered it against the Manchester Originals with 71 (51).
However, in his next three innings, the former Australia batter has not managed to get to double figures even once, having been dismissed for 6, 9 and most recently a four-ball duck against the Northern Superchargers.
Warner has accumulated 165 runs at a strike rate of 129.92 in six innings so far, and despite his recent form, is still the Spirit's leading run-getter in the tournament.
The 38-year-old, who has played 110 T20Is for Australia and 184 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL), will hope to turn things around in the next set of matches and take his side closer to the top of the points table. In fact, Warner led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to their only IPL title, which came in 2016.
Warner's side have now lost two matches in a row, with the most recent one coming against the Superchargers on August 20 (Wednesday). The Spirit are currently placed seventh out of eight teams in The Hundred, with just two wins from six matches so far.
