2026 T20 World Cup Final Set To Be Hosted In Either Ahmedabad Or Colombo: Reports

If Pakistan don’t make the final of the tournament, the final will be held in Ahmedabad; otherwise, it will be hosted in Colombo

The dates of the 2026 T20 World Cup are almost confirmed, and as per reports in ESPNCricinfo, the tournament is set to be played between February 7 and March 8 and will be hosted by both India and Sri Lanka. 

The final of the tournament will be held in Ahmedabad if Pakistan don’t manage to reach it, and in case they do, it will be held in Colombo as the Pakistanis won’t be travelling to India for the tournament. 

As many as 20 teams will be participating in the tournament, and they will be placed in four groups of five team each. Then the top two from each group will play the Super Eight stage, where the teams will be again divided in two groups of four teams each. From there on, the top two in each group will move into the knockouts. 

15 of the 20 sides are already confirmed, including countries like the USA, Canada, Netherlands and Italy, apart from the full-member nations. Notably, Italy will be making their debut in the competition. Of the remaining five teams, two will be chosen from the Africa regional qualifiers, and three from the East Asia Pacific and Asia qualifiers.
