Zak Crawley is stereotyped as England’s red-ball star, but the 27-year-old is smashing those stereotypes in fine fashion with Northern Superchargers in the ongoing Hundred. The opener was on fire in the Superchargers clash against London Spirits, on August 20 (Wednesday), smashing a 38-ball 55, including hitting five fours and two sixes.
It wasn’t the first time in the tournament that Crawley had smashed the leather, as he now is the leading run-scorer in The Hundred 2025, with 214 runs, overtaking Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Liam Livingstone.
But what’s more shocking is that Crawley is doing that with a strike rate of 164.61, including hitting two half-centuries. Throughout the competition, the right-handed opener has smashed 22 fours and 10 sixes, the joint-most fours for any batter.
Despite his status as red-ball superstar, Crawley has played 94 T20s, where he’s scored 2,288 runs, averaging 27.56 and striking at 138.75, including a T20 hundred. But with performances like this at the bigger stage, Crawley puts himself into the mix for the upcoming IPL 2026 mini auction.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) pacer Jofra Archer, too, is in sizzling form, as the pacer has picked up seven wickets for Southern Braves. Archer is currently averaging 12.85 with the ball and has the best economy rate (5.40) for any bowler (min 10 overs) in The Hundred 2025.
