After an incredible run that lasted 2154 days - nearly six years - India’s unbeaten T20I streak with Shivam Dube in the playing XI has finally come to an end.
The 37-match undefeated run for Dube was snapped on October 31 (Friday) when India went down to Australia by four wickets in the second T20I at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
The last time India lost a T20I with Dube in the side was way back in 2019, against West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram. Overall, Dube has featured in 43 T20Is, with India losing only three of those matches.

On a day when almost every Indian batter struggled to find rhythm, Abhishek Sharma once again stood out with another fearless display. The left-hander smashed 68 off 37 balls - including eight fours and two sixes.
Shubman Gill (5), Sanju Samson (2), Suryakumar Yadav (1), Tilak Varma (0), and Axar Patel (7) only got 15 runs between them as India were reduced to 49/5 inside eight overs.
Abhishek, though, continued to fight back, adding 56 runs for the sixth wicket with Harshit Rana (35 off 33). Eventually, India were bowled out for 125, with only Abhishek and Harshit crossing double digits. Batting at No.8, Dube got out for 4 off 2 balls.
In reply, Australia made light work of the chase. Openers Mitchell Marsh (46 off 26) and Travis Head (28 off 15) blasted 51 runs in just 4.3 overs, effectively killing the contest in the Powerplay.
While India did manage to pick up a few wickets later, the damage was already done, and Australia cruised home with more than six overs to spare, taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
