The Andhra T20 League has plenty of potential and is among the top T20 leagues in the country. Hence, it is not surprising that the Indian Premier League (IPL) scouts will keep a close eye on this tournament, given that many teams are looking for a stable wicketkeeper in their team. We look at a few of them.
Srikar Bharat's international career hangs in the balance, but there is no reason he cannot make a strong comeback. He is the leading run-getter in the Andhra League, and another good showing could see him back in the IPL as well. He has already played for Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), scoring 199 runs in nine innings and cannot rule him out of another season in India's premier T20 tournament.
Ricky Bhui might have had a record-breaking domestic season, but he is yt to cement his place in the IPL. The Andhra league might just be a platform for it. He has played just four IPL matches since making his debut in 2018, but this could very well be the season he makes it big in the IPL. A good season in Andhra might just be the platform to restart his career.
Lekhaz Reddy will have stiff competition as he and Bharat will play for the same team - the Kakinada Kings. However, he has amassed over 280 runs in the Andhra League and has a healthy strike rate of 146 in the tournament as well. The 23-year-old played five T20s for Andhra in 2021 and has a chance to regain his spot there, along with a place in the IPL with another good showing in the Andhra league.
