The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 was another successful domestic T20 competition, putting the spotlight on a bunch of quality talent from Delhi. West Delhi Lions beat the Central Delhi Kings in the final to emerge as champions.
Like the previous edition, which saw the likes of Priyansh Arya and Digvesh Rathi shine and secure IPL contracts, this season too has produced a set of players who stepped up and had a breakout season, making a name for themselves.
Here are three batters who could potentially be picked in the IPL 2026 auction.
10 innings, 495 runs, 55.0 average, 147 SR, 6 fifties
Arpit Rana had a superb breakout edition of DPL 2025, finishing the season as the highest run-scorer in the tournament. He smashed six fifties in 10 innings, showcasing incredible consistency. He scored at a strong strike rate of 143 in the first 15 overs and exploded to 204 in the slog overs.
Rana dominated both pacers and spinners, scoring 150+ runs against each - at a strike rate of 156 against pace and 136 against spin. Notably, 11 of his 18 sixes came against spinners. He performed equally well while chasing and batting first, registering three fifties in each scenario.
With such consistency and potential, the 21-year-old left-handed batter can be a valuable addition to any IPL franchise.
8 innings, 435 runs, 87.0 average, 167 SR, 3 fifties, 2 centuries
Yash Dhull had a fantastic season in DPL 2025, playing a key role in Central Delhi Kings reaching the finals by smashing two match-winning hundreds. Opening the batting, the U19 World Cup-winning captain scored at a strong strike rate across all phases, accelerating in the middle overs at a strike rate of 170, significantly boosting the scoring rate.
He was outstanding while chasing, scoring 257 runs with three 50+ scores in four innings, getting out only once. Dhull was equally effective against pace and spin, maintaining a strike rate of 167, and hitting 30+ boundaries off both types of bowling.
After showcasing so much talent, the 22-year-old will be hoping to re-enter the IPL ecosystem after missing out last season.
10 innings, 339 runs, 48.43 average, 190 SR, 4 fifties
Tejasvi Dahiya was the most explosive batter in DPL 2025, smashing at a strike rate of 190 and hitting 29 monstrous sixes, the second-most by any batter in the tournament.
Batting at #4 and lower, the 23-year-old terrorized bowlers during the powerplay at a strike rate of 230. In the middle overs, he focused more on strike rotation, scoring at 148 SR, before unleashing his full power in the slog overs, smashing fours and sixes at a staggering 300 SR.
IPL teams like GT and LSG will be eyeing players like him, who can confidently clear the ropes in the slog overs. With top-heavy batting lineups, franchises are looking for domestic big hitters who can fit the mold of Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma.
