Maharaja Trophy 2025 was another great edition for Karnataka talents to showcase their skills. Mangaluru Dragons managed to win their first championship, beating Hubli Tigers in the Final. A number of quality players continued their good run in the tournament. Among these players, three batters were very impressive.
These three batters can be a great value addition for the defending champions, RCB, for IPL 2026.

Lochan Gowda had a breakout season. Opening the batting for Mangaluru Dragons, the 23-year-old played a full season for the first time, scoring 360 runs at 138 SR with three fifties, ending the season as the fourth-highest run scorer.
He, along with his opening partner Sharath BR, scored 535 runs as a pair, laying a great foundation for the Dragons. He showcased stable batting in the powerplay, scoring at a strike rate of 132, and then accelerated in the middle overs, scoring at a strike rate of 141. He scored effectively against both pace and spin, hammering 13 sixes off spin bowlers across the season.

Karthik SU had another good season in the Maharaja Trophy, as the 21-year-old opener was one of the few positives for Mysuru Warriors in a disastrous edition. He scored 280 runs at 153 SR with three fifties.
He exploded in the powerplay scoring at 159 SR and maintained the momentum in the middle overs as well. He thrashed pacers at 171 SR, hitting 12 sixes against them. He can be a good investment for the future as he can possibly replace Virat Kohli in the opening slot in a couple of years.
