India and Pakistan have been in constant loggerheads over the last month, owing to serious political tension at the border. The incident became so serious that there were serious doubts as to whether the clash between the two sides would be a reality at the Asia Cup 2025.
However, the two of them have faced each other thrice in the Asia Cup, with India having an impressive record against their cross-country rivals, including a five-wicket win against Pakistan, in the final on September 28 (Sunday).
While the previous two clashes had their fair share of controversies, the final was quite eccentric with palpable tension at the venue. Pakistan started quite strongly, smashing 113 runs for the loss of one wicket. However, they collapsed in ugly fashion, losing plot, as they crashed to just 146.
India started quite shakily, but the depth was such that they overcame all the obstacles to register a famous five-wicket win against Pakistan. In the aftermath of the clash, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took a dig at their cross-country rivals on X (formerly Twitter).
“3 blows. 0 response. Asia Cup Champions. Message delivered,” BCCI posted on X.
Not just that, in the same post, BCCI also posted that they would be awarding an INR 21 crore prize money for the entire team, including the support staff.
“21 crores prize money for the team and support staff.”
