3 Bowlers From Andhra Premier League That SRH Can Target For IPL 2026
Here are three bowlers from APL who can boost SRH's bowling lineup for IPL 2026
The 2025 season of Andhra Premier League has seen a great set of bowlers grab the spotlight and make an impression. Some of these bowlers did well in displaying their raw skills while some bowlers showed great amount of growth as individuals, compared to previous seasons.
Here are three bowlers from APL 2025 who can be signed in IPL 2026 auction by home team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as they will be looking to improve their bowling line-up after a disastrous IPL 2025 with the ball.
Yarra Prithviraj (Vijayawada Sunshiners)
6 innings, 20 overs, 11 wickets, 8.6 economy, 10.9 bowl SR
Yarra Prithviraj is one of the well-known fast bowlers Andhra. The left-arm pacer had been a part of IPL 2019 where he played a few games for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Almost six years later, the 27-year-old pacer has shown immense growth as a bowler. He took 11 wickets in APL 2025, finishing as the third-highest wicket taker in the season.
Fulfilling the role of an enforcer in middle overs, the left-arm quick managed seven wickets between overs 7-15 at 7.6 economy, keeping the run-scoring under control. He also developed the skill of bowling off cutters and slower balls and found good success. He can be a potential support for someone like Harshal Patel and can trouble the batters by not allowing them to accelerate.
Jagarlapudi Saketh Ram (Royals of Rayalaseema)
5 innings, 14.2 overs, 9 wickets, 10.3 economy, 9.6 bowl SR
J Saketh Ram had a breakout season in APL 2025. The Rayalaseema pacer took nine wickets in five games. Even though he had a high economy of 10.3, he managed to make it up with wickets, striking every 9.6 balls in the competition.
He operated as a powerplay specialist, bowling nine of his 14.2 overs in this phase, taking six wickets. The 23-year-old right arm pacer has a mixture of natural variations along with bouncers and off-cutters.
Sai Venkata Sumith (Vijayawada Sunshiners)
6 innings, 20.1 overs, 8 wickets, 7.4 economy, 15.1 bowl SR
Sai Venkata Sumith had an excellent debut season of APL as the left-arm pacer impressed with some outstanding bowling, taking 8 wickets in six games at a decent economy of 7.4.
The 21-year-old bowled equally well in powerplay and slog overs, taking four wickets in both phases. He depended mostly on seam-out deliveries and off-cutters, inducing plenty of shanks and mistimed slogs from the batters.
