3 Bowling Records Jasprit Bumrah Can Create On India's Tour of England 2025
After the record-breaking BGT 2024-25, Bumrah can create the following records on India’s tour of England 2025.
Jasprit Bumrah was named Player of the series in the Border-Gavaskar Tro[phy 2024-25 in Australia, after he picked a record 32 wickets at a sensational average of 13.04. This was the best performance by a bowler from the subcontinent in Australian conditions in the history of the game.
But Bumrah missed the all-important ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Although India won that tournament despite Bumrah not being there, the pacer, who is set to play only three of the five Tests in England, would look to make amends for the absence from international cricket.
Here are three records that Bumrah could create on India’s tour of England 2025.
First Indian Bowler To Take 150 Wickets In SENA Countries
After taking 32 wickets against Australia, Bumrah’s stock in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia) countries have risen to another level.
Bumrah, who has a total of 205 wickets to his name in 45 Tests, has taken 145 of them in the SENA countries in just 31 games at an amazing average of 21.02. He already has the highest number of wickets by an Indian bowler in SENA countries, four more than Anil Kumble.
But the 31-year-old needs just five more wickets to touch the milestone of 150 wickets in SENA countries and become the first Indian bowler to do so.
Most Wickets In England For India
Bumrah, who has played only nine Tests in England, already has 37 wickets in them. While he is India’s highest wicket-taker in Australia with 64 wickets in just 12 Tests, Bumrah can very well become the highest wicket-taker for India in England as well. The right-arm pacer needs 15 wickets to overtake Ishant Sharma, who took 51 wickets in 15 Tests in England.
In this list, Mohammed Shami (42 in 14 Tests) and Kapil Dev (43 in 13 Tests) are standing between Ishant and Bumrah.
Best Bowling Figures In England For India
Jasprit Bumrah’s best bowling figures in Tests read 6/27, which he earned during a match against West Indies in Jamaica in 2019. But the man with a unique bowling action has the ability to get past Ishant’s figures of 7/74, which are the best figures by an Indian in England in Tests.
