3 Coaches Who Can Replace Chandrakant Pandit at KKR

Under Pandit, KKR won their first IPL title in a decade in 2024

After three years at the helm, Chandrakant Pandit walks away from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), having taken them to their first Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 10 years in 2024. We look at three candidates who could fill Pandit's shoes at KKR.

Gary Kirsten

Gary Kirsten Pakistan head coach

Gary Kirsten, who led India to World Cup glory in 2011, is out of a job after he resigned as Pakistan's head coach in October last year. Since then, he has had a similar role with South Africa and Hobart Hurricanes as well. He has the experience of being a batting coach at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) as well. A step up to being the head coach of KKR could very well be the next step for the former South Africa batter.

Abhishek Nayar

Abhishek Nayar KKR coachAbhishek Nayar has been an integral part of KKR's success as their assistant coach over the last few years. He was recently appointed the head coach of Women's Premier League (WPL) side UP Warriorz and could also be persuaded to play a similar role even with KKR. Plenty of coaches, including Jonathan Batty and Biju George, have coached teams in the IPL and WPL simultaneously, and Nayar could be tempted to do so with KKR.

Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo KKR coach One of the greatest T20 players, Dwayne Bravo, could be an excellent option for KKR. He worked as a mentor for them during IPL 2025, and moreover, he has been appointed the head coach of KKR-owned Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) for the upcoming edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Other than his accolades on the field, Bravo has also previously worked with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Afghanistan as their bowling consultant.
