The second season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 is set to begin on August 2 (Saturday), and the spotlight will once again be on the batters. The previous edition of the tournament proved to be a goldmine for IPL scouts, especially with the emergence of Priyansh Arya, who went on to have a sensational debut season with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2025.
With the IPL 2026 auction on the horizon, franchises will be keeping a close watch on this year’s batting talent, hoping to identify the next breakout star.
Here’s a look at three batters from DPL 2025 who are expected to be on every IPL scout’s radar:
289 runs at an average of 72.25 and a strike rate of 190.1 - the 25-year-old was one of the best middle-order batters in DPL 2024. Most of those runs came batting at No. 6, which makes him an exciting prospect for IPL franchises, given the scarcity of reliable Indian finishers. He hit 122 runs at a strike rate of 277.27 in death overs (16-20).
He also contributed with the ball, picking up 11 wickets at an average of 16.6 and an economy rate of 7. Since then, Rawat has featured in T20 and First-Class cricket for Delhi, further strengthening his case as a complete T20 package.
The right-handed batter from Aligarh had a stellar run for Central Delhi Kings in DPL 2024, slamming 294 runs across nine innings at an average of 36.75 and a strike rate of nearly 160.
Kaushik is set to turn out for New Delhi Tigers in DPL 2025, and another strong season could catapult him into serious IPL contention.
Only 19, but already making noise. Representing North Delhi Strikers in DPL 2024, Yajas scored 171 runs in six innings at an average of 28.5 and an eye-popping strike rate of 208.5.
He was dismissed for a duck once, but in the other five innings, he smashed 23 (6), 32 (18), 34 (16), 41 (21), and 41 (20) - all showcasing his explosive intent and boundary-hitting ability.
