3 Fringe Indian Players Who Could Induce Bidding War At Next IPL Auction
Which of these players will invite the highest bid?
With all Indian Premier League (IPL) teams set to release a few players ahead of the auction in 2026, there will be plenty of fringe players who will attract plenty of bids. We take a look at three such players who could go for big money at the next auction.
T Natarajan
Delhi Capitals (DC) shelled out INR 10.75 crore to secure the services of T Natarajan, but the left-arm pacer played just two games for the franchise. In a team that already has Mitchell Starc, it is always going to be tough to displace him, but bafflingly Dushmantha Chameera, Mohit Sharma and Mukesh Kumar were preferred over Natarajan. The 34-year-old may not be sold for such a huge sum, but could still attract plenty of bids.
Rahul Chahar
Leg-spinner Rahul Chahar played just a solitary game for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) last season after he was picked for INR 3.20 crore. Young leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari was preferred ahead of Chahar, following his excellent show in the UPT20. Chahar, who has won two IPL titles with Mumbai Indians (MI), will most probably be let go by SRH, and his quality and experience should be enough to induce a bidding war.
Suryansh Shedge
Suryansh Shedge did not live up to the big-hitting for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2025. However, the Mumbai all-rounder is not short of talent, playing vital roles with both bat and ball in their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy triumph earlier this year. He can be damaging, especially with the bat, down the order, as he strikes at 252 outside the IPL. Count on plenty of franchises to fight it out for the 22-year-old.
