Maharaja Trophy 2025 is giving a massive opportunity for Karnataka players to step up and take the spotlight. The tournament has been a platform for IPL scouts to find quality talent, with players like KL Shrijith, Vyshak Vijaykumar, Manvanth Kumar and others being successful in getting an IPL contract after performing well in the Maharaja Trophy.
Coming to the 2025 season, there are some notable bowlers who have showcased good progress in last couple seasons. These bowlers who land a contract come IPL 2026 if they have another good campaign.
Vidyadhar Patil, Karnataka’s next express pacer, has taken 20 wickets in 13 games since 2024 edition. He has done well in the domestic circuit for Karnataka as well; he took 10 wickets in six games in the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
He has started the 2025 edition of Maharaja Trophy on a good note as he has taken four wickets in three games at an economy of 8. His bowling is at its best with the new ball as he has taken 12 wickers in powerplay since 2024. If he continues his progress, there's every chance he could land an IPL contract in a few months' time.
Shubhang Hegde is currently the most successful bowler in Maharaja Trophy history, taking 45 wickets in 36 innings while maintaining a superb economy of 6.6. He has consistently taken 12+ wickets in each of the previous three seasons.
In this edition, he has taken five wickets in three games while maintaining an economy of 5.5. He is also stepping up as a captain for Bengaluru Blasters in absence of Mayank Agarwal and has become a complete all-rounder by improving his batting. The IPL scouts will be looking at him as an all-rounder who can prove to be a real asset for the side.
Monish Reddy is a 22-year-old right-arm pacer who has grown into a frontline bowler in Maharaja Trophy. In the last three seasons, he has managed to take 27 wickets at a bowling SR of 17.7. His bowling is at his best in slog overs (16-20) as he has taken 16 wickets at 8.7 bowling SR, maintaining an excellent bowling economy of 8.4 as well.
In the 2025 edition of Maharaja Trophy, Monish is leading the Gulbarga Mystics bowling attack and has taken 5 wickets in 3 innings at a bowling SR of 11.2, with his best coming in final five overs, where he's taken 3 of the wickets.
