Gujarat Titans (GT) did qualify for the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 but lost the Eliminator against Mumbai Indians (MI). Skipper Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, Sai Sudharsan, Prasidh Krishna, R Sai Kishore, and Mohammed Siraj were the six players who delivered, but GT didn’t get much from the rest of the players.
According to several media reports, the IPL 2026 trade window started on July 4, and here are three players GT would be interested in signing before the next auction.
In IPL 2025, GT missed a middle-order anchor and a fast-bowling all-rounder, and Sam Curran could fix both those problems. The left-hander from England has improved immensely with the bat in T20s since 2024, having scored 1,684 runs at an average of 33.02 and a strike rate of 137.5.
The left-arm seamer also has 66 wickets at a strike rate of 20.3 in this period. Curran played just five games for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025, and could easily slot into GT’s middle-order.
Kamindu Mendis featured in five games for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025 and is another player who could interest GT in the trade window. The spin-bowling all-rounder from Sri Lanka is averaging close to 30 and striking at 137.6 in T20s since 2024. Mendis is also an ambidextrous spinner, and GT did struggle in the spin department in IPL 2025.
Aaron Hardie didn’t play a single game for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2025, meaning it won’t be too tough for GT to acquire him in the trade window. The Australian all-rounder has an average of almost 31 since 2023, and is also averaging 25.1 with his medium pace. Hardie could easily give GT some overs in the powerplay and middle overs.
