It seems to be a season of pre-season exits in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Earlier, Chandrakant Pandit parted ways with the Kolkata Knight Riders as head coach. On August 30 (Saturday), former India captain and coach and a former coach and captain of the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Rahul Dravid, bid adieu to the franchise just one year into the reunion that happened ahead of IPL 2025.
On that note, here are three RR players who can join Dravid and move out of the franchise ahead of IPL 2026.
Sanju Samson’s name as the next Chennai Super Kings (CSK) superstar has been making the rounds ever since the end of the last season. With the departure of Rahul Dravid, most likely Samson could also leave. Moreover, Samson’s identity as a one-team legend could cost him the greatness he might get by joining a big name like CSK.
Samson has played the most number of matches (155), has hit the most runs (4219) and hit the maximum number of sixes (197) for the franchise. Thus, even if he decides to leave, he will leave as a legend of the team.
After the end of IPL 2025, Yashasvi Jaiswal posted on Instagram, saying, "Thank you, Rajasthan Royals, for everything. Not the season we hoped for, but I continue to be grateful for our journey together. On to the next challenge 🇮🇳 and whatever the future brings YBJ 64.”
He did make changes to it, but it seemed like he wanted to get out of the franchise. Rahul Dravid, who has been with Jaiswal since his Under-19 days and under whom he made his India U-19 and senior India debuts, has left, giving Jaiswal a window of opportunity to leave as well.
Jaiswal, who started his IPL journey with RR, has scored 2166 runs in 67 matches with two centuries so far.
Dhruv Jurel, who was retained for INR 14 Crore by RR, did not perform the way the team wanted him to. Certainly not the way he did in the previous season. Now that the man who retained him and under whom he made his India debut as well is no longer there, Jurel, who has played 42 matches, might think of leaving too.
The 24-year-old has already made a name for himself and the market might be very open for him to make gains.
