Cheteshwar Pujara is not known for his T20 skills. Since making his debut in the format in 2007, the batter played just 71 matches in the format and scored just 1,556 runs at a strike rate of 112.18.
Out of those 30 matches, 30 came in the Indian Premier League (IPL). With the batter having called time on his career, we take a look at how he fared for each IPL team he played for.
Pujara made his IPL debut in 2010 for KKR under Sourav Ganguly's leadership. He played 10 matches in his only season for KKR, finishing with 122 runs at 30.50 to go with a strike rate of 106.80 as KKR finished sixth out of eight teams.
Pujara showed little improvement at RCB over the three seasons he spent there. The only positive for him during his RCB stint was that he scored his first and only IPL fifty - 51 off 48 - against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mohali. Overall, across the three seasons with the Royal Challengers, Pujara scored just 143 runs at 14.3.
In Pujara's first season with RCB (2011), they reached the final, and in his first season at PBKS (2014) - then Kings XI Punjab - his side reached the final as well. However, Pujara's team went on to lose on both occasions. In his only season at Punjab, Pujara, who opened with Virender Sehwag, got to play just six times and scored 125 runs at 25, with a strike rate barely over run-a-ball.
NOTE: Pujara was picked by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of IPL 2021. While he did not play a single game, CSK went on to win the title.
