IPL 2025: 3 unwanted records Rohit Sharma could set in tournament

These are some unwanted records Rohit Sharma might top by the end of IPL 2025

Unlike IPL 2024, Rohit Sharma will be coming into the 2025 season of the IPL with a fresh new approach as he has no burden of leading the team and without much tension around T20Is. Rohit is the second-most capped player (257 matches) and scored the tournament's third-most runs (6628 runs). Rohit Sharma post dismissal in IPL 2024

However, look away, MI fans; there are a few negative records that Rohit could end up topping after the 2025 season.

Here are 3 unwanted records that Rohit could set in the tournament:

Most ducks in IPL history

Rohit Sharma has the unfortunate record of getting out to the most ducks for an Indian in T20s, with 30 instances of him getting out without putting a run in his name.

17 of these 30 instances have been in IPL, which puts him second in the list of most ducks in IPL after Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell, who are joint most at 18 ducks. With his attacking approach, there's a strong chance that the right-hander could nick off early in some of the innings, which could add to the ducks tally.

Most single-digit scores in IPL

As an opener, Rohit has had a history of getting out early because of the moving ball. The right-hander has gotten out for single-digit scores (0-9) in 157 innings, the most for an Indian batter.

It is no different; in IPL, he has gotten out for single digits in 80 instances. His tendency to go for ultra-aggressive strokes early on might cost him a few instances of getting out quite early, meaning that he could surpass Dinesh Karthik’s 82 instances of getting out for singles.

Most dismissals inside first 10 balls in IPL

The embarrassment doesn't end there for Rohit, with the five-time IPL winner also very close to having another bad record against his name - most dismissals inside the first ten balls.

In IPL, he has gotten out inside the first 10 balls in 81 instances, which is the joint most, alongside former RCB batter Dinesh Kartik on this unwanted list, increasing the woes for the former Indian skipper.
