3 Young Indian Bowlers Who Could Go On To Become IPL GOATs
Who will end up with the most wickets at the end of their careers?
Over the years, plenty of bowlers have come into the Indian Premier League (IPL) and have left a mark. We look at three such young bowlers who have done so and could turn out to be among the greats, at least in the IPL.
Suyash Sharma
It seems like just yesterday, when a 20-year-old leg-spinner brought out of nowhere wreaked havoc on his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) debut against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Two years down the line, he would go on to play a big role in helping RCB win their maiden IPL title. Yes, that bowler is Suyash Sharma, who, in his first three seasons in the IPL, may not have proved to me a wicket-taker, but given his talent, he will certainly get better and even perhaps go on to become one of the greatest bowlers in the tournament.
Vignesh Puthur
We have already seen one chinaman bowler in the IPL, who has made life difficult for the batters, and now we have another one who has made a solid start and, in the years to come, could develop into a lethal weapon for any team. In his debut season in the IPL for the Mumbai Indians (MI), Vignesh Puthur picked up six wickets in five games at an economy rate of just over nine. He has surely shown great potential, and if there's one team that could make him realise his potential, it is MI.
Mayank Yadav
Tereaway quick Mayank Yadav made such an impact that he was immediately drafted into the Indian team, but injuries have cut short his journey so far. With the right amount of backing and workload management, Mayank could very well play a big role in Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) challenging for the title and with that, his rise could also be meteoric.
