3 Young Indian Stars Who Could Demand Release To Get Better Bid At IPL 2026 Auction

It is totally up to the players if they want to be retained or not

With the IPL 2026 Auction around the corner, expect a lot of drama in terms of players staying at their IPL franchises, and the ones who would want to move away, seeking a better opportunity.

Several young Indian cricketers have taken the world by storm after their stellar IPL 2025 season. In the aftermath of that season, they would be looking at a better contract, which could be a reality at the IPL 2026 mini auction, where teams usually splurge a lot of money.

Who are the three names that could demand a release ahead of the IPL 2026 auction?

Vaibhav Suryavanshi

When Rajasthan Royals (RR) shelled out INR 1.10 crore for a 13-year-old, it felt like a huge sum. But the 13-year-old turned out to be an overnight sensation, as Vaibhav Suryavanshi has either set or broken multiple records over the next two months.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi could well fetch over 10 crores if he gets released ahead of IPL 2026

He’s the youngest to, you name it and that. Given that he was India Under-19’s best player in the YODI series against England, where he scored 355 runs at a strike rate of 174.01, expect him to be a multi-millionaire if he gets released ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction.

Digvesh Rathi

In INR 30 lakhs, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) hit a jackpot when they signed mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi. The 25-year-old turned up trump in IPL 2025, picking up 17 wickets, averaging 26.35, and was the franchise’s best player.

During the season itself, it was clear as daylight that Rathi would be a future superstar. Hence, the 25-year-old could try to move to some other franchise to make a push for India selection.

Vipraj Nigam

Vipraj Nigam is no different from Rathi; he was one of the finds of IPL 2025.

Not only could he impact games with the ball, but he also showed the entire world his batting prowess in DC’s first outing against LSG. The 20-year-old scored 142 runs in the season, striking at 179.74, and picked up 11 wickets with the ball too.

If he moves to a place where there is more purchase for the spinners, Nigam could be a world beater.
