When Outer Delhi Warriors ended with a first-innings score of 148, they needed a miracle from their bowlers in the clash against Purani Delhi 6, on August 5 (Tuesday) in the Delhi Premier League 2025. That miracle was RCB’s legspinner Suyash Sharma, who turned the game around on its head, with figures of 4/17 in a spell that ran riot at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The legspinner was introduced in the powerplay and impacted immediately, picking up the prized scalp of Sanat Sangwan, who scored 18 off 17 deliveries. He didn’t stop there, as the leggie removed CSK wicketkeeper batter Vansh Bedi with a caught and bowled to extend his wicket tally on the day to two.
Three deliveries later, Suyash struck again, as he took revenge for a boundary of the previous ball with Pranav Pant’s wicket, with figures of 3/10 in the powerplay alone, as Purani Delhi 6 were reduced to 31/4 in the run chase.
Suyash later returned in the 12th over, with a tight four-run over. In his last over of the day, the leggie picked up Rajneesh Dadar’s wicket to round up a fabulous night for himself, as he finished with figures of 4/17. As it turned out, his figures helped Outer Delhi Warriors to a massive 82-run win, which now pushes them to the second spot on the DPL 2025 points table.
The 22-year-old was one of RCB’s crucial cogs in their IPL 2025 win, picking up eight wickets at an economy rate of just 8.84.
