The Major League Cricket (MLC) has returned after two successful seasons. Like the previous seasons, this edition also features a few Indian players, who could leave a mark. We look at a few of them:
Agni Chopra took the domestic circuit in India by storm, as he holds the record of being the first cricketer to hit four tons in his first four Ranji Trophy matches, plying his trade with Mizoram. He made his debut for MI New York (MINY) in Oakland on June 13 (Friday) against the Texas Super Kings (TSK) and scored just five, opening the batting with Quinton de Kock.
The man who won India an Under-19 World Cup in 2012, Unmukt Chand, has been playing elsewhere since he retired from Indian cricket in 2021. Since then, he has played in the Big Bash League (BBL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and also the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
In the ongoing edition of MLC, he is playing for the LA Knight Riders (LAKR). He started off the campaign with a fifty against the San Francisco Unicorns.
Shubham Ranjane has played for Maharashtra, Mumbai and Goa for about 10 years and was also bought by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2019 before being released the following year. He has since retired from Indian cricket and is currently playing for Seattle Orcas since 2023. He has also played for Dhaka Capitals in the BPL.
Batter Sharad Lumba was bought by the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL in 2018 and has also played across formats for Punjab between 2014 and 2020. He was picked by MINY for this season but did not play the opening game of the tournament.
