In one of the most brutal hitting you'll ever see, Calicut Globstars batter Salman Nizar smashed six sixes off six legal deliveries of the last over of the innings, to script history in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) 2025. Overall, 40 runs came off the final over, which included a wide and three runs off a no-ball.
Adani Trivandrum Royals medium-pacer Abijith Praveen was on the receiving end of Nizar's brutal attack that took Globstars from 146/6 at the start of the 20th over to 186/6 at the end of the innings.
Nizar finished unbeaten on 86 off just 26 deliveries, striking at 330.76, hitting as many as 12 sixes. He got to his fifty off just 20 deliveries, off the first delivery of the final over by smashing the ball down the ground. The 28-year-old hit 11 sixes off the 13 deliveries he faced. He took 31 runs off Basil Thampi in the previous over. Overall, the Globstars scored 71 runs off their final two overs.
The southpaw was on 17 off 13 when the penultimate over started. He went on to add another 69 runs off his next 13 deliveries to set the stage on fire. Earlier this year, Nizar was called up for trials by five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), but did not get a contract.
A win in this game could potentially take Calicut to the top of the table, while the Royals will remain rooted to the bottom of the table regardless of the result of this match.
