5 factors that helped KKR move to the top of the points table

Missed the match? Don’t worry, we have you well covered with this recap

Either too full or too short

The LSG seamers conceded 68 runs in the first five overs. They were either too short or too full and Phil Salt and Sunil Narine made them pay.

On deliveries pitched on length, the two batters could only score at a strike rate of 119.

There is no stopping Narine

The left-hander continued his insane form, hitting 81 off just 39 deliveries. Narine slammed six fours and seven maximums and now has the most number of boundaries (78) in this year’s IPL.

The 35-year-old even smoked Marcus Stoinis for three sixes in an over.

Ramandeep’s fiery cameo

Ramandeep Singh’s 6-ball 25* helped KKR finish at 235 instead of 210-215. He slammed three maximums and one four.

Thanks to him, the Knight Riders got 35 runs from the last two overs.

KL’s lack of intent in powerplay

In a 236-run chase, KL Rahul scored 25 off 21 deliveries. His first 11 runs came off just five deliveries. The next 14 runs, it took him 16 balls.

Russell gets the two big fish

Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran were the only batters in LSG’s line-up who were capable of taking LSG closer to the target.

Andre Russell, however, dismissed them in the space of two overs and that sealed the deal for KKR. They won the game by 98 runs.
