Age is temporary, power is permanent, as Mumbai Indians’ batting coach Kieron Pollard continued his onslaught in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2025. The legendary all-rounder smashed seven sixes off eight balls, including four in a row against Waqar Salamkheil to race himself off to 54 off 21 balls, on September 1 (Monday).
At the start of the 15th over, it seemed like Pollard’s power-hitting prowess was in decline, when the all-rounder was on 12 off 12 balls. But like a flick of a switch, Pollard turned it around in his own fashion, smashing three sixes in four balls against Navin Bidaisee to accelerate the Trinbago Knight Riders' innings against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
Eventually, Pollard was dismissed for a 29-ball 65, as he smashed 53 runs off the last 17 balls, where he towered eight sixes, and demolished several careers. The 38-year-old has been in stellar form this year at CPL, where he’s amassed 223 runs in six innings, averaging 74.33 while still striking at 182.78.
The all-rounder has smashed 20 sixes, the most for a batter in CPL 2025.
