Abhishek Sharma Among Players Set To Get BCCI Central Contract: Reports
Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy are the other two players who could land their maiden BCCI central contract
Abhishek Sharma, who has been in excellent form for India and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), is likely to get the BCCI central contract, along with Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy, according to a report on Cricbuzz.
Abhishek, who slammed his maiden IPL ton recently, is expected to be included in Grade C, allowing him to earn an annual retainer fee of INR 1 crore. Harshit and Nitish, who play for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), respectively, made their India debuts recently.
As per the BCCI policy, "athletes who meet the criteria of playing a minimum of three Tests or eight ODIs or 10 T20Is within the specified period will automatically be included in Grade C on a pro-rata basis."
The period considered is usually between September and October. Abhishek, Harshit, and Nitish have met those criteria, and as a result, they could be included in BCCI's central contract, which will be announced in a couple of days.
