The Chennai Super Kings had the worst season ever in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the 2025 season as they finished in the last spot, 10th in the league for the first time ever in the 18-year existence of the league.
They would be hungry to get going in the next season and hence would be looking at all the leagues around the world to recruit players that can get them the success that the joint-most successful team in the league needs for revival.
In the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 season, CSK’s sister franchise, Texas Super Kings (TSK) have done well and qualified for the playoffs. Here are three players TSK that CSK can target during the IPL 2026 auction.
Adam Milne
Adam Milne has been terrific throughout MLC 2025. He has taken 14 wickets in just five matches at an unbelievable average of 8.50 and an economy rate of 6.67. The 33-year-old has been part of three teams in the IPL previously and, for CSK too, has been part of one season, playing a solitary match in 2022.
Akeal Hosein
Although Chennai have a great overseas spinner in Noor Ahmad, having Akeal Hosein in the squad will be like having a safety net if Noor suffers some sort of hiccup or an injury. Hosein has been amazing in MLC 2025, bowling with an economy of five, taking nine wickets in five games.
Not only that, the southpaw is good enough with the willow too and can hit a few lusty blows, having scored a First-Class hundred and an ODI fifty.
Calvin Savage
Another name that would dot the minds of the CSK scouts would be Calvin Savage. A South African-born cricketer, who is yet to make his international debut, has done well in MLC 2025. The 32-year-old hit a fifty batting at number seven off just 34 balls.
He can be a great finisher and can bowl a few overs as well, a perfect build for T20 cricket.
