Ravichandran Ashwin continues his pathbreaking way, as he is set to be among the high-profile names that will go under the hammer at DP World International League T20 (ILT20)’s fourth season, on September 30 (Tuesday).
The first-ever auction will feature close to 300 players from 20 countries, including some other high-profile players such as Jason Roy, Fakhar Zaman and Shakib Al Hasan. Ashwin isn’t the only Indian in the list, as the all-rounder features alongside Ankit Rajput, Priyank Panchal, Siddarth Kaul and Piyush Chawla.
According to the league’s press release, players are slabbed in USD 120,000, 80,000, 40,000, and 10,000 categories. High-profile players such as Ashwin will be in the highest category, continuing his globetrotting way in franchise cricket.
Meanwhile, England's Jason Roy, Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub, and West Indies' Andre Fletcher will all be in the USD 80,000 category. England veteran James Anderson is amongst the list of players in the USD 40,000 category, alongside Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
All the local players (UAE) will feature in the USD 10,000 category, including Junaid Siddique, Vriitya Aravind, Aryan Lakra, Basil Hameed, Rohan Mustafa, Zuhaib Zubair, Zahoor Khan, Dhruv Parashar, and Rahul Chopra.
Both Dubai Capitals and Gulf Giants will have a very good opportunity to sign Ashwin, given that they have the highest purse amongst the others, with USD 1,035,000 each.
