India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has not had the best of series against England, where he scored just 45 runs in four innings and with the ball, picked up just three wickets at 37. He was ruled out of the final two Tests due to a knee injury and was replaced by Shardul Thakur in the XI for the fourth Test in Manchester.
However, Nitish has landed in legal trouble off the field over unpaid fees of INR 5 crore to his former agency, Square The One. They have now dragged the matter to court.
According to a report on India Today, Nitish appointed his new manager during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, ending his four-year relationship with Square The One, which has now accused him of not clearing their dues.
A petition under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act was filed against the all-rounder for breach of contract and non-payment of dues. The case will be heard at the Delhi High Court on July 28 (Monday).
"90% of such disputes do not reach court and are resolved privately. But in this case, Nitish refused to pay any money and claimed he had secured the deals himself," a source told India Today.
Nitish, who made his Test debut in Australia last year, did not have a good Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season as well, scoring just 182 runs and picking up a couple of wickets. Overall, he has scored 343 runs for India in Tests at an average of 28.58 and struck eight times with the ball at 37.62.
