Following impressive performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), all-rounder Imad Wasim returned to the national side for the T20 International (T20I) series against Afghanistan and then against New Zealand. Across both the series, Wasim bowled exceptionally well, finishing 10 wickets at 12.40 to go with a miserly economy rate of 5.63.
With the bat, he scored a vital 64 not out off 57 deliveries against Afghanistan and has gone on to make valuable contributions with the bat in the other games this year too. However, he has assured that he will still look to improve his batting and bowling.
"My batting form hasn't dipped, and it's the same. I am enjoying both batting and bowling right now, to be very honest. These are my last four to five years, where I want to enjoy cricket and express it in a different way," Imad told Cricket Pakistan.
"So this is what I am trying, and things have been going exactly as I want them to be. I will try my level best to continue this, improve it even more, and bring more brilliance to both of my fortes."
Wasim returned to the Pakistan side after a gap of 16 months, Wasim said that he was not anxious and everything was normal.
"Everything was absolutely normal. Of course, it's an honor to play for the country, for Pakistan. Rest everything was smooth and normal. There is a different buzz when you are playing for the country, so it was definitely there," he further added.
Wasim finished as Karachi Kings' leading wicket-taker and the highest run-getter in PSL 2023. With the ball he picked up nine wickets at an economy rate of under eight and with bat in hand, he slammed 404 runs at a strike-rate of 170.46.
