On July 24 (Wednesday), Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced that Akeem Jordan was roped in as a replacement for the injured Jeremiah Louis. Jeremiah, the brother of Mikyle, was ruled out of the series with a hamstring injury.
While he will remain with the squad for further treatment, Louis will not play any part furthermore in the series. Luckily, Jordan was already playing cricket in the United Kingdom, and he will be part of the Windies setup ahead of the third Test, starting Wednesday’s training session.
Jordan hasn’t played red-ball cricket for the Windies yet but has outstanding numbers at the first-class level, with 67 wickets in 19 appearances and an average of 24.10, which include two five-wicket hauls, with best figures of 5/44.
Most likely, the Windies’ bowling unit is set to be unchanged for the third Test, starting July 26 (Friday), with Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales and allrounder Jason Holder already showing their worth in the first two Tests.
