Albie Morkel joins Bangladesh as power-hitting batting coach

After the appointment of Allan Donald as the bowling coach, Bangladesh have strengthened their backroom staff, with the appointment of former South African all-rounder Albie Morkel. 

Morkel joins the Tigers as the new power-hitting batting coach, as the Asian side aim to improve the power-hitting aspect of their T20 game. 

BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed Morkel’s appointment in Cricbuzz’s report, stating the need for experience in that department. 

"He is a very experienced campaigner and we feel that our batters will be helped with his coaching," he said.

Earlier this week, Jamie Siddons joined the Tigers, as their batting coach, with Morkel’s appointment coming on the back of Bangladesh’s struggle in the T20 World Cup in the Middle East.
