Anrich Nortje won't be available for Delhi Capitals' home game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday as he has left for South Africa due to a family emergency. There's no update on his return for the remainder of the season.
"Owing to a personal emergency, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje had to leave for South Africa late on Friday night. He will be unavailable for this evening’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore," Delhi Capitals have said in a statement.
Nortje, who was excellent with the ball for the last three seasons, has failed to impress this season though, having taken just seven wickets in eight matches at an average of 40.71 and an economy rate of 8.90. His absence will be a big concern for the franchise for they are reeling through the pain of wooden-spoon tag firmly attached to them.
Delhi Capitals will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 6 before travelling to Chennai for an away encounter against Chennai Super Kings on May 10.
