After sealing their spot in the playoffs through a thumping win over Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Titans (GT) entered the clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) full of energy and optimism, hoping to become the first team in IPL 2025 to get to the 20-point mark.
However, the clash against LSG got off to a concerning start for the table-toppers, as fast bowler Arshad Khan suffered a nasty fall not once but twice in the space of four balls in the very second over of the contest.
Bowling the second over of the match, Arshad’s spell began with a false start, as the left-arm seamer slipped during the delivery release and landed awkwardly on his left shoulder. Arshad started clutching his shoulder immediately and there was concern as many felt that the speedster had done serious damage to his shoulder.
However, within a few seconds, the 27-year-old was back on his feet again and restarted his spell.
After four legal deliveries, things were going okay for the pacer, but horror ensued on the fifth ball again as Arshad once again slipped and landed on his shoulder awkwardly, in identical fashion to the first ball of his spell. He grimaced in pain again, and the physio attended to him immediately.
Luckily, however, it was a false alarm as Arshad got back on his feet. In fact, he bounced back admirably as he completed the over with scores of one and dot.
