Indian trio of Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana and Jitesh Sharma poked fun at Sanju Samson, mimicking Abrar Ahmed’s celebration after their five-wicket win against Pakistan, on September 28 (Sunday).
Earlier, Sanju Samson got off to the best start possible in the Asia Cup 2025 final, where he smashed 24 off 20 balls. But just when he started to show his true attacking prowess, the Pakistan leg-spinner ended his stay at the crease with a brute of a delivery that left Samson stunned.
Following that dismissal, the leg-spinner did his ‘iconic celebration’, as Samson walked back to the dressing room after a good start. Samson was lucky, as the same bowler would have dismissed the right-handed batter earlier in the ninth over.
However, the Indian wicketkeeper’s impact was evident in the clash, as he built a 57-run partnership with Player of the Match, Tilak Varma, who scored 69 off 53 balls, with three fours and four sixes. India won the clash comfortably by five wickets, extending their winning run against Pakistan to 3-0 in the competition.
