Ashwin-Srikkanth Fight HEATS UP As Anirudha Calls Out Off-Spinner’s ‘Hypocrisy’ In Latest Video

It’s drama season in the world of cricket as the last seven days have seen a spat between Ravichandran Ashwin and former India captain Kris Srikkanth, who, along with his son Anirudha, has a YouTube channel named ‘Cheeky Cheeka’. 

Srikkanth and Anirudha, in their channel, have been openly extremely critical of Harshit Rana, and have alluded several times that the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) speedster is not in the national side due to merit, but rather due to being head coach Gautam Gambhir’s favourite.

All hell broke loose earlier this week when Gambhir, in his press conference after the West Indies series, indirectly tore into Srikkanth and other YouTubers criticising Rana, terming the criticism ‘shameful’ and ‘unacceptable’.

Two days back, Ashwin added fuel to the fire as well, and he took Gambhir’s side as he strongly condemned all content creators that were criticising Rana. While Ashwin did not directly take Srikkanth’s name, it was evident that he was referring to the ‘Cheeky Cheeka’ YouTube channel, especially because the host K Vignesh began the video by claiming that there was a ‘back and forth between Gambhir and Cheeka’.

This spat has now gone to the next level as in the latest Cheeky Cheeka video, Anirudha, who is a former teammate of Ashwin at CSK, directly called out Ashwin for his alleged ‘hypocrisy’.

“There have been a lot of talks about you Cheeka. I know you, you won’t really pay heed to all this. But I just want to ask, Ashwin, why bro? Why this kolaveri bro? What did we do to you bro?,” Anirudha said.

“Your statements seemed a bit unfair. Two years back, when you were mocking the entire RCB bowling attack, we applauded and laughed. At that time didn’t you realize that those players and their families would be hurt if someone came across your statements on social media? I just find it a little hypocritical Cheeka.

“But you and me, we won’t dwell into that. Everybody has their opinion, everybody has their perception, that’s the beauty of it. Just to the viewers, in this channel, you are going to get a strong and biased opinion from Cheeka, that won’t change. Cheeka has been that right from 1983. Ever since the day he lit up that cigarette at the Lord’s balcony, he has not been afraid of anyone. I’m not expecting Cheeka to change.”

As things stand, Ashwin is yet to respond to the latest statements made by Srikkanth and Anirudha.
