The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC), hosts of the Men’s Asia Cup T20 2025, have decided to change the timing of the tournament, starting September 9.
Earlier, the time set for the start of the match was 6:00 PM local time, but now, a change has been made, with the new timings adding an extra half an hour to the start to accommodate the excessive heat of September in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Thus, all but one game of the 19-match multinational event will see matches start at 8:00 PM IST, as the Indian Standard Time is one and a half hours ahead of the UAE.
The only match which will begin at 5:30 PM IST is the one involving hosts UAE and Oman. The match will begin at 4:00 PM Local time (5:30 PM IST) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 15.
Afghanistan will begin the tournament by taking on Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi on September 9. India’s first match will be played in Dubai on September 10 against the hosts UAE.
It is important to note that there is a reserve day for the final, which is scheduled for September 28.
