Australia A and South Africa A Set To Tour India For Multi-format Series

Both the A sides will be playing two four-day games and three 50-over games each

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced Australia A and South Africa A men’s team tours of India, as the India A program finally seems to have gathered steam after a slightly inactive period since the pandemic.

Both the A sides will play two four-day games and three 50-over one-day games. The Australia A side will tour India first, with the two four-day games set to be played from September 16 and 23 in Lucknow. The three 50-over games will be played on September 30, October 3 and October 5 in the adjacent city of Kanpur.

Meanwhile, the South Africa A side will be playing both the four-day and limited-overs games in Bengaluru. The newly constructed and inaugurated BCCI Centre of Excellence in the outskirts of Bengaluru will host the two multi-day games on October 30 and November 9. Meanwhile, the three 50-over games will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the heart of Bengaluru.

The India A side is currently on a tour to England right before the senior side tours the country for a five-Test series. They’ll face England Lions in two First-class matches, starting May 30, meanwhile, the Indian senior side will play the first Test from June 20.

Abhimanyu Easwaran, who has also been named in the senior team’s squad, will be leading India A in the two first-class games. India A currently include quite a few players who would be linking with the Test squad later on.
