Australia’s Beau Webster, who starred in the Sydney Test win, will now turn up for Warwickshire in the County Championship ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final. The all-rounder will represent the county across both red-ball games and the T20 Blast.
Webster’s County deal will begin in May and run until the end of July. But there’s a strong chance that the all-rounder will miss a few games (Blast) because of the WTC final, which starts on June 11. In Cameron Green’s absence, Webster has become a key figure in the Australian setup, considering Mitchell Marsh’s poor form.
"I'm really pleased to sign for the Bears for part of the 2025 season," Webster said.
"Having played Birmingham League cricket [for Knowle and Dorridge] in the past, I have great memories of the people and the area. I played some Championship cricket last summer with Gloucestershire and loved the challenge of the competition."
But there’s still uncertainty about whether Green will be fit in time to play in the WTC final after suffering a back injury, which has ruled him out of cricket since the England ODIs last year.
