Bangladesh, on September 18 (Wednesday), announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup. The spinners will once again be their backbone, which will be led by Nigar Sultana.
The likes of Nahida Akter, Shorna Akter, Rabeya, Sultana Khatun and Fahima Khatun are expected to shoulder the spin-bowling responsibilities, while Marufa Akter, Jahanara Alam, Ritu Moni and Sobhana Mostary are the fast bowlers in the side.
Bangladesh are part of Group B, where they have to contend with England, South Africa, West Indies, and debutants Scotland. Their best performance in the tournament was in 2014 when they beat Ireland and Sri Lanka.
They will kick off their 2024 campaign against Scotland on October 3 in Sharjah. Bangladesh initially hosted the tournament, but political turmoil in the country forced the ICC to move it to the UAE.
