Bangladesh fan hospitalised during Kanpur Test vs India

The incident took place on Day One of the second Test, and security has been increased around the stadium, as a result

A Bangladesh fan was hospitalised during the India-Bangladesh Kanpur Test on September 27 (Friday) after he was allegedly assaulted inside the Green Park Stadium, according to reports. The fan, known as 'Tiger Robi,' was dressed as a tiger, the symbol of the Bangladesh team was standing in C Block balcony in the stadium where the incident took place.

A video clip by PTI shows that the fan was carried out of the stadium by security personnel and medical staff. He later indicated that he was pushed on his lower back. The Kanpur police will examine the CCTV footage before they take their next step. The fan is believed to have been suffering from dehydration but has since recovered.

The incident comes at the back of many right-wing activists protesting near the stadium demanding cancellation of the match following reports of plenty of Hindus being attacked in Bangladesh. As a result, police have increased security around the area.

Bangladesh ended Day One of the Kanpur Test on 107/3, with Mominul Haque (40*) and Mushfiqur Rahum (6*) at the crease. Akash Deep was the pick of the Indian bowlers with a couple of wickets. India lead the two-match series 1-0, following a 280-run win in the first Test in Chennai.
