Bangladesh began their Women's World Cup Qualifier with a record win over Thailand in Lahore on April 10 (Thursday). It was a comprehensive victory that saw them go top of the points table in the six-team event.
During the match, Nigar Sultana became the first Bangladesh Woman captain to score a century and the second-ever in their history. Fargana Haque (2) is the other player from Bangladesh to score a century in Women One-Day Internationals (WODI). Nigar had scored five fifties in ODIs before this, but this is the first time she has achieved the three-figure mark in the 50-over format.
Sharmin Akhter could have added to this list, but she was left stranded on 94.
